Beam 4.0 Pro

For the machines that have more to say.

Level, conductivity and pressure for the machines that need more than temperature and flow.

Three things only the Pro can do.

A closer look at the hardware.

Size and weight

110 × 70 × 28 mm and about 120 g, in an ABS housing designed and built by Flowplan.

Battery and power

Up to five years on one replaceable battery, the same as a Beam. If there is a socket nearby, it can run on an external supply and switches back to the battery by itself if the power goes.

Sensor inputs

Beam 4.0 Pro takes several types of external sensors: conductivity, distance and level, pressure, and temperature. Fit one at install or add it later. Each transmitter takes one of conductivity, level and pressure.

Connectivity

It runs on dedicated IoT networks with its own SIM card. No Wi-Fi, and nothing to ask the venue's IT for.

Install

It can be mounted in several ways. We recommend screws or zip ties, then the sensor goes onto the pipework.

Durability

Built to keep working in tough conditions. Rated IP66, so dust and water stay out. It can sit under a counter, behind a machine or in a damp utility room.

The Beam 4.0 Pro with its sensor connections

Level. Conductivity. Pressure.

The most flexible telemetry we've built.

Beam 4.0 Pro is the most capable product Flowplan has shipped. One transmitter reads temperature, flow, level, conductivity or pressure on any machine, whatever the brand, on its own SIM card, for up to five years on one battery.

“Professional water quality monitoring has traditionally relied on expensive equipment and manual readings on site. With the new Beam 4.0 Pro, we’re bringing it online at a groundbreaking price.”

Marcus Rosholm, CEO

Three more things it can measure.

  1. Pressure

    Coming soon

Water pressure changes when a line or a filter starts to block. The Pro reports it every day, so you can see a blockage coming and plan the visit.

  2. Level

A level sensor reads how much is left in a tank, such as salt in a water softener or liquid in a container. You see it running low before someone finds it empty.

  3. Conductivity

Conductivity is a measure of how much is dissolved in the water. Litres tell you how much water a filter has treated, not what is in it. The sensor reads water quality directly, so you know when the water is no longer clean enough, whether for a coffee machine or for an autoclave that runs on ultrapure water.

Beam 4.0 and Beam 4.0 Pro.

Same software and the same network. The Pro adds three readings: level, conductivity and pressure, one of them per transmitter.

Do I need Beam 4.0 Pro for temperature or volume?

No. The standard Beam 4.0 reads temperature and flow, and that is what most machines need. Beam 4.0 Pro is for level, conductivity or pressure.

Can I add a sensor later?

Yes. You can fit a level, conductivity or pressure sensor whenever you are ready. A transmitter takes one of them at a time, so plan the Pro around the reading the machine needs. For temperature and flow alone, a standard Beam 4.0 is enough.

Is the install different?

No. It fits the same way and takes the same few minutes, through the same app.

Can it read pressure, level and conductivity at the same time?

No. The transmitter takes one of the three, so you order the sensor for the reading the machine needs. Flow and temperature still run alongside it, and the sensor can be changed later.
