Water leak detection. Know when a line keeps running.

A Beam on the water line counts every litre. When a line keeps running, Flowplan flags it and puts a task on your plan. The customer hears it from you.

A leak looks like normal use.

A dishwasher, an ice machine or a coffee machine uses water all day, so a split hose or a stuck valve behind it looks like a busy day. The first sign is usually the damage: a wet floor, a swollen cabinet, a stain on the ceiling below.

  • It happens at night

The place is shut, nobody is there to hear it, and it runs until someone opens up.

  • The building has one meter

Nothing on the water bill says which machine, or which night.

  • Or nothing is wet at all

Someone forgets to put the plug back in the bottom of the dishwasher. The machine keeps filling, the water runs straight down the drain, and the line never stops.

A commercial kitchen, where a combi oven, a dishwasher and a coffee machine all use water through the day

Litres on the line, day and night.

  1. Every litre, counted

A Flowmeter sits inline on the supply to the machine and a Beam counts what passes through it. The pattern over the day is what gives a leak away: water moving after the place has shut, or a line that never stops. Flowplan flags it as a leak.

  2. A leak becomes a job

It lands in Backoffice as a task on that site and that machine, the same way a filter that is due does. You send it to the technician who covers the route.

  3. On the technician's phone

Field Office shows the site, the machine and what the line has done. The fix gets ticked off on the phone, and the history stays with the machine.

  4. Into the systems you already use

Leak events are pushed to your own service system, like Dynamics 365, together with filter and connection events. For your customers it is one more line in the service agreement: the water line is watched at night too.

The meter sees what a floor sensor cannot.

A probe or a sensing cable has to get wet, so it sees the leak once water reaches the spot where it was laid. A monitor on the building's mains sees the whole building as one number, so it can say water ran at three in the morning, but not from which machine. The Flowmeter counts every litre going into one machine, so it also sees a leak inside the machine or one that runs straight into the drain, and the task names the machine.

  • Flow, in litres per minute

Read inline on the supply to one machine, whatever the machine is.

  • It sees that water is running, not where

Flowplan does not tell you where the pipe is open, and it does not close the valve. Finding the open joint is the visit.

  • Any machine, any size

An ice machine, a combi oven, a coffee machine or a water cooler. If water goes in through a Flowmeter, a line that keeps running gets flagged.

0.1 L/min

the smallest flow it registers

Fitted in minutes, on a visit you were already making.

  1. 01Cut the Flowmeter into the supply line. At the fitting that matches the size. Plug the M8 into the Beam and tape or screw the Beam to the wall beside the machine.

  2. 02It connects on its own. The Beam has its own SIM card and sends over the mobile network, so there is no Wi-Fi to join and nothing to ask the customer's IT for.

  3. 03A leak turns up as a task. When a line keeps running, Flowplan flags it and puts it on your plan. The battery lasts up to five years, and you change it on a visit you were already making.

Does it shut the water off?

No. Flowplan tells you water is running. Closing the valve and fixing the line is the technician's visit. If you need an automatic shut-off valve, that is a different product and we do not make one.

Does it find where the leak is?

No. It tells you which line at which site is running, and since when. Finding the open joint behind the machine takes a person on site.

How is this different from a leak sensor on the floor?

A floor sensor or cable has to get wet, so it only sees water that has reached the spot where it was laid. The Flowmeter sits on the supply line and counts every litre going into the machine, so it also sees a leak inside the machine or one that runs straight into the drain. It does not see a drip from a pipe it is not fitted on.

How is this different from a leak monitor on the building's mains?

A mains monitor reads the whole building as one meter, and most of them close a valve when the flow looks wrong. Flowplan reads the line to one machine and does not touch the valve. The task names the machine, lands on the plan of the company that services it, and the same meter is already counting litres for the filter change.

How small a leak does it see?

Anything above 0.1 litres a minute on that line. A slower drip at a fitting will not register.

Is leak detection extra?

No. It comes with every Beam that has a Flowmeter on it, on every plan including Basic, which is included at no charge. Essential and Premium add service automation and richer sensor data for a monthly fee per Beam.

I run a restaurant. Can I buy it?

We only sell through service partners, because the Beam needs fitting and the software needs setting up. Tell us where you are and we will connect you with a partner who covers your area.

See it on your own installations.

Tell us what you service, and we will show you how a leak shows up in Backoffice and how it becomes a job for the technician.
